December Graduation Spotlight: Emily Uhl

December 14, 2023 Charis Ochu

Emily Uhl, originally from San Antonio, Texas, will graduate this December with a major in strategic communication and minors in biology and honors. In the fall of 2020, she decided to attend college at Hardin-Simmons University mainly because of the friendly and welcoming nature of the campus.

Throughout her years at HSU, she was very involved and contributed to the campus. She was a member of SABERS, STAMPEDE wrangler, served on the STAMPEDE steering committee, and was captain of the Spurs dance team for three years. Emily was also a student worker for Career Services and Student Life and an Instagram Ambassador for HSU.

“I got to know so many people that will remain a part of my life even after I graduate,” she shared. She loves dancing, solving puzzles with her friends, and making Sonic runs in her spare time.

Emily advises students at HSU to “get involved on campus and make friendships. I made my best friend during STAMPEDE week and will forever be grateful for that. It can be hard to put yourself out there, but you will never know who you could meet!”

Emilly thanks all the people at HSU who are now a solid part of her life and made her college experience memorable. “HSU will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I am thankful that God led me here four years ago,” she shared.

Congratulations Emily Uhl!
